Jeffrey Herlings set the fastest time during the qualifying session, the Dutchman was 0.6 seconds quicker than Tim Gajser. Kay de Wolf clocked the third fastest time, with Glenn Coldenhoff impressively taking fourth. The fifth fastest time went to Andrea Adamo.
Lucas Coenen, who is returning this weekend after his injury, had a bad crash in the chicane and immediately headed back to the paddock afterward.
