Torre van Mechgelen of De Baets AIT Racing had a disappointing end to his weekend during the EMX125 race in Uddevalla. The youngster crashed in the second moto and injured his shoulder, forcing him to retire from the race early.
Van Mechgelen started the weekend feeling good on his bike and posted the 11th-fastest time in free practice. In qualifying, he finished in 17th position.

The first moto proved difficult. After a poor start, Van Mechgelen struggled to find his rhythm and eventually had to settle for 32nd place.
In the second moto, he made a better start. Running around 23rd position, the Yamaha rider felt comfortable and appeared to be on course for a much better race. However, a crash brought his moto to an early end. Van Mechgelen injured his shoulder and decided to head into the pits.

Torre van Mechgelen: “I finished 11th in free practice and felt good on the bike. In qualifying, I finished 17th. In the first moto, I had a bad start and couldn’t find my rhythm, which meant I had to settle for 32nd place. In the second moto, I had a better start, around 23rd position, and I was feeling good. Unfortunately, I crashed and injured my shoulder, which meant I had to ride into the pits. I’m sorry for my team, who came all the way here for me, and that we didn’t achieve the result we had hoped for. Now it’s time to rest, recover and come back stronger. Thank you to everyone who supports me!”
