Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2 Team’s Karlis Reisulis has secured fourth overall at the MXGP of Flanders. One week on from claiming his maiden podium result on the hardpack of the Czech Republic, K. Reisulis demonstrated his ability at the soft sand track of Lommel, Belgium, to finish fourth in both races. Teammate and brother Janis also impressed at the 14th round of the series, placing fifth overall.
The MXGP of Flanders marked the third of three Grands Prix on consecutive weekends and offered the toughest test of them all. The gruelling Lommel circuit is always one of the most difficult rounds on the calendar and the 2026 edition was no different.
- Reisulis worked hard for his Race One result after starting just inside the top 10. Demonstrating his fitness, the Yamaha YZ250FM rider worked his way to the front throughout the race and for his effort, he was rewarded with a solid fourth-place finish.
Race Two unfolded the same way for the 20-year-old. From ninth early on, he moved into fifth after passing his teammate and then a few laps later he passed Liam Everts for fourth. With the top three out of reach, he maintained his strong pace to secure fourth for fourth overall. Leaving Belgium, K. Reisulis maintains seventh in the MX2 World Championship standings and he continues to break away from those behind him following another excellent result.
- Reisulis also enjoyed a solid day of racing in Lommel. Fast and consistent all weekend long, the Latvian placed fifth in the opening race and backed that up with a hard-fought sixth in Race Two. Securing fifth overall marked his eighth top five finish this season as the MX2 rookie continues to impress. With 14 rounds complete, J. Reisulis remains sixth in the championship standings.
Two-time WMX World Champion Lotte van Drunen also lined up in Lommel and scored a point in Race One for finishing 20th. In the second race she crossed the line in 25th for 22nd overall.
With another positive Grand Prix complete, the team will now enjoy a weekend off before returning to MX2 World Championship competition in Sweden over the weekend of August 15-16.

“It was quite a good day overall. My speed was really good, and I managed to keep a clear head throughout the races, even when I was battling with other riders.
