Gyan Doensen showed good speed at Landrake, but poor starts held him back

Gyan Doensen showed strong speed at the British Championship in Landrake, but poor starts and arm pump limited him to fifth and ninth-place finishes.

The Gabriel SS24 KTM Factory Juniors Team rider experienced a lot of traffic during the timed practice sessions, which affected his fast laps. Despite this, he felt comfortable on the bike and eventually secured a respectable third-fastest time.

In the opening race, Doensen got off to a poor start and had to fight his way through the field from the back. During the early stages, he also suffered heavily from arm pump. As the race progressed, he found a better rhythm and, with strong lap times, managed to recover to fifth place.

The second moto also began with another poor start. After eleven minutes, the race was stopped with a red flag. Following the restart, the KTM rider once again struggled with arm pump and eventually crossed the finish line in ninth position.

Despite the difficult weekend, Doensen remains positive ahead of his next challenge. “Tough times, but I will keep working hard and I’m really looking forward to my second MX2 World Championship race next weekend.”
