The picturesque setting of “Il Ciclamino” in Arco di Trento hosted the fifth round of the MXGP World Championship—a weekend defined by both highs and lows, yet one that confirms the steady technical growth of Team Honda Maddii ABF Italia.
The famous “Il Ciclamino” track served as the backdrop for the fifth round of the MXGP World Championship. For Team Honda Maddii ABF Italia, the weekend in Arco di Trento concluded with extremely encouraging signs regarding speed and technical competitiveness.
MX2: Excellent performance for Maxime Grau
In the MX2 class, Maxime Grau confirmed his excellent form. In Race 1, the French rider displayed a solid and consistent pace, finishing in an impressive 7th place. In the second heat, despite a perfect start that immediately propelled him into the lead positions, his race was compromised by a crash that forced him to retire. Despite the “zero” in the Race 2 standings, Grau proved he can consistently fight within the world’s top 10.

EMX250: Alvisi narrowly misses the top 10; Escandell returns
In the EMX250 continental category, Niccolò Alvisi rode a solid race, finishing the weekend in 11th overall and showing constant growth in his feeling with the Honda. Thanks to this result, Niccolò Alvisi currently sits 6th in the general standings, just one point away from the top five.
The weekend also marked the return to the track for Elias Escandell. Returning after a long injury, the Spaniard focused on finding his race rhythm and the right confidence; although he finished toward the back of the pack, the team warmly welcomes his return to competitive racing.

Marco Maddii, Team Manager: “The weekend was certainly positive for everyone. We saw some beautiful first heats from both Alvisi and Grau. It’s a shame about the second legs for both, but we are nonetheless very happy with the progress seen on track and the bike’s performance. Now, we will take a month to work hard, focusing particularly on improving endurance in the second heats. We are convinced we are moving in the right direction.”
Team Honda Maddii ABF Italia will now return to headquarters for an intensive training and testing session, with the goal of maximizing the riders’ athletic potential ahead of the next round of the Italian Championship, which will take place in early May at Maggiora.
