MJC Yamaha Official EMX125 Team’s Sleny Goyer has returned to the EMX125 podium with a strong third overall in Pietramurata, Italy. The talented youngster was in fine form all weekend long to secure his place on the rostrum and maintain third in the series standings.
One week on from his maiden EMX125 race win in the deep sand of Riola Sardo in Sardegna, Goyer demonstrated his ability on the hardpack of Pietramurata by posting the second-fastest time in his qualifying group.
In the opening race on Saturday, Goyer started up front with the leaders, and by the end of lap one, he was running in third place. An intense battle then developed between the GYTR-kitted YZ125 rider and Bertram Thorius for second. Goyer finally made the pass stick at the halfway stage of the race and, with the leader just out of reach, the Frenchman maintained his impressive pace to secure second.
After rain fell overnight, track conditions were slick for Race Two. In this one, Goyer didn’t enjoy the best of starts and was forced to dig deep for the duration of the race. With five laps remaining, he was up to sixth, and on the final lap, while setting up a pass to move into fifth, a backmarker switched lines and Goyer had to brake hard to avoid a collision. Ultimately placing sixth, Goyer claimed the third step on the podium and leaves Italy third in the series standings.

VHR Yamaha Official EMX250 Team’s Mano Faure was also in Italy for round four of the EMX250 Championship. In Race One, he fell in the first turn and after reaching the top 20, crashed again and sustained a fractured right ankle, which brought his weekend to a premature end.
Faure’s teammate Jarne Bervoets was absent from racing in Italy after crashing heavily last weekend in Sardegna.
Both the EMX125 and EMX250 Championships will now enjoy a short break in the calendar. The EMX125 series resumes on May 24 in France, with EMX250 continuing one week later in Germany.
