Guillod crashes during Indianapolis Supercross Triple Crown

Valentin Guillod of the Gizmo Racing Yamaha Team had an eventful evening during the Triple Crown race in Indianapolis. The Swiss rider managed to qualify for a main event for the first time, a great milestone in his still early supercross career.

Guillod felt strong on the track and was especially comfortable in the whoops section. However, things went wrong in the second race when he crashed and landed hard on his right shoulder. Despite the pain, he tried to line up for the start of the third race, but it soon became clear that continuing was not possible.

After examination in the Alpinestars Medical Unit, there were initial concerns about a possible fracture of the shoulder blade. Fortunately, X-rays showed that nothing was broken. Guillod did suffer damage to the muscles at the back of his shoulder.

With a weekend off on the calendar, the Swiss rider now has time to recover and focus on the next round of the AMA Supercross Championship.
