Moritz Ernecker Claims Italian 125cc Title

Moritz Ernecker of Norman KTM Factory Racing was crowned Italian 125cc Champion on Sunday in Mantova. Ernecker won both motos, remaining unbeaten throughout the championship.

After his victory at the opening round in Alghero, Ernecker was highly motivated to continue this strong momentum in Mantova. He immediately felt comfortable in practice, which allowed him to push hard and set a fast lap time. He succeeded in doing so and finished the session fastest in his group.

A strong start in the first moto enabled him to take the lead early on. He set a high pace and delivered a flawless race. Throughout the moto, he built a safe gap and took the win by a margin of twenty seconds. In the second moto, he once again took control of the race early on and managed it from the front. Ernecker also won the second moto, meaning he claimed victory in all four motos of the championship.

Comment from Moritz Ernecker:
“It was a perfect day for me. I got good starts in both motos and gave it my all. In the second moto, I tried to get into the lead as quickly as possible, and once I managed that, I controlled the rest of the race. I am very happy with my two moto wins. Now we will continue our preparation for the EMX125 Championship.”
