Joey Savatgy surprised friend and foe by taking pole position in the World Supercross Championship in Australia. Savatgy not only set the fastest time in qualifying, but was also the quickest in the superpole.
In the superpole, Savatgy stayed ahead of Ken Roczen, Eli Tomac and Greg Aranda.
In the SX2 class, Enzo Lopes was the fastest in the superpole, ahead of Shane McElrath, Cole Thompson and Max Anstie. Anstie was on a fast lap but jumped off the track and had to abort his run.
