Romain Febvre secured his second MXGP World Championship title with a fourth-place finish in the opening moto. Lucas Coenen, just as he did yesterday, claimed the holeshot and dominated the race from start to finish. Behind the young Belgian, Jeffrey Herlings crossed the line in second place, followed by Tim Gajser, Febvre, and Ruben Fernandez.
Calvin Vlaanderen was the best-performing Dutch rider in sixth place, just behind Herlings, while Glenn Coldenhoff finished eighth and Brian Bogers took thirteenth.
With one moto remaining, the podium of the World Championship is already decided: Romain Febvre, champion again after first taking the crown in 2015; Lucas Coenen, a remarkable silver medal in his debut season; and Glenn Coldenhoff with a strong bronze.
