Mike Brown – Guest of Honour at VMXdN

The news earlier in the summer that VMXdN Foxhill legend Mike Brown took a header and was seriously injured whilst riding with the American Triumph team was a shock to us all.

Brownie, at a mere 53 years old, is like the “Peter Pan” of the MX world, still racing at an incredibly high level and doing it with picture-perfect style and grace until this latest issue. His recovery has been steady, but with his usual grit and determination, he is getting better every day, so much so that he is coming to VMXdN Foxhill 2025.

Brownie will be on-site for both race days – Saturday, August 23rd and Sunday, August 24th, as the guest of honour. He will have some merchandise available in both short-sleeved t-shirts, long-sleeved t-shirts and race jerseys to help with the cost of his rehabilitation, so be sure to visit the VMXdN merch stand.

Having raced at every VMXdN event, as well as being the very first racer to sign up when the event was just a thought by the promoters, Dave King and DocWob, he is VMXdN Royalty!

The VMXdN has rapidly become the biggest and must-see event on the British MX calendar and the largest vets event in the world, with a plethora of retired pro riders to do battle in the iconic Grand Prix valley of dreams situated near Swindon in Wiltshire.

The event celebrates everything that is good and great about the sport we all love, with the nostalgia from the 90s being particularly prevalent as the circuit was the first to hold the “double headers”, marking the beginning of class combinations running on one day. The atmosphere on the banks is nothing short of epic, with the best racers in the world doing what they do best, all on 23-year-old 2-strokes.

Then there’s the après-race action starting with the classic “Show’N’Shine” bike show on Friday, rider autograph sessions, and the traders all displaying their wares, from title sponsors – high street giants The Range / Wilko / Homebase to industry icons like Yamaha, Bell, Fox, FXR, Troy Lee and many others. Then there’s the lively evening entertainment in and around the food and beverage vendors by the beer tent & DJ, where you can rub shoulders with your hero, having a drink.

Gates open at midday on Thursday, August 21st, for the four-day extravaganza. It’s highly recommended to pre-book tickets and camping, as they have remained at the same price point for two years, and camping has been traditionally sold out.
