Jeffrey Herlings did not come out of the qualifying heat of the MXGP in Portugal unscathed. While running in second place, Herlings crashed and was subsequently hit by Romain Febvre. Both riders went down in the incident. As a result of the collision, Herlings sustained a fractured rib and a swollen elbow. Despite the injuries, Herlings stated that he intends to race tomorrow.
