Nicolas Vennekens of VNT KTM Racing had another valuable learning experience during the sixth round of the MX2 World Championship, held in Frauenfeld, Switzerland. The track in Frauenfeld is a highly technical circuit, quite different from most Grand Prix tracks.
At the start of the weekend, Nicolas needed some time to adapt to the circuit. The track was filled with hard, deep ruts and quickly developed many tricky bumps. During the qualifying heat, he found a good feeling on the track. He rode a consistent race and crossed the finish line in 22nd place.
The motos were held on Monday. In the first moto, he was able to carry over that positive feeling and finished 23rd. In the second moto, he didn’t get a good start and had to begin the race from the back of the field. He struggled to find the right rhythm and ultimately finished 27th.
With these results, he ended the day in 28th place overall and currently sits 20th in the championship standings. The next round of the World Championship will take place in Águeda, Portugal, during the weekend of May 3rd and 4th.
