Honda’s statement – why Lawrence couldn’t ride the third final in Melbourne

Jett Lawrence had a disappointing race at the Australian Supercross Open in Melbourne. After a bad start in the first final, he came back to second place. He also got away badly in the second final and this resulted in him crashing with three other riders. Lawrence’s Honda was damaged to such an extent that continuing was not an option.

Because the bike problem could not be fixed, Lawrence was unable to start in the third and decisive final.

Read a statement from Honda as to why they didn’t have a spare bike ready for Lawrence:

‘’Jett’s crash during the SX1 final was unfortunate, but we are relieved that he walked away without any serious injuries. Regarding the situation with the bike, the AUSX Open operates under unique logistical constraints compared to other championships. Due to freight limitations and event regulations, we were unable to bring a spare bike to Melbourne. While this is not an ideal scenario, it is one we were prepared to manage as part of the team’s contingency planning.”
