New Contract: Bas Vaessen

Bas Vaessen joins the Hitachi KTM squad

The deal of the day on 24MX.

A final piece of the silly-season puzzle has dropped into place. It was announced moments ago that Bas Vaessen has inked a deal with the Hitachi KTM, fuelled by Milwaukee, team to contest the upcoming FIM Motocross World Championship. The contract will also ensure that he attends all eight rounds of the Maxxis British Championship.

"For the 2019 season I'm going to ride for the Hitachi KTM team, fuelled by Milwaukee," Bas Vaessen told MX Vice exclusively. "The offer seemed really good. I have got a good bike and a professional team, so I was quite happy with the offering. We just signed and everything is going pretty well. Everything is well organised. I have close contact with Roger Magee every couple of days about what the plan is, what we are going to do with testing and what we are going to do with parts and stuff. Overall, I am quite happy with my deal at the moment."

Bas Vaessen ended seventeenth in the MX2 division this year, despite the fact that he missed four rounds with injuries, and had a season-best finish of eighth in moto two at the Grand Prix of Asia.
