The Rob Hooper Yamaha team is delighted to complete their 2019 team with the signing of Hampshire-based racer Taylor Hammal.
18-year-old Hammal has a huge amount of experience for a young rider, having won national motocross and arenacross titles on an 85, as well as gaining top 10 finishes in both the world and European championships on the 85 machine and he finished second in the MXY2 class of the MX Nationals in 2016.
Last year his rise to the adult ranks saw him finish a fantastic fourth in the MX2 class in the MX Nationals, whilst also recording a top ten finish in a round of the European 125cc series.
For 2019, Taylor will concentrate on the UK scene with an assault on the Maxxis British Motocross Championships, Michelin MX Nationals and the Bridgestone British Masters in the MX2 class aboard the RHR Yamaha YZ250F.
Team Boss Rob Hooper was pleased to find another rider to join Ryan Houghton in the 2019 squad saying, "It’s great to bring our team up to two riders. Taylor is a talented young rider, with a big future ahead of him, and I feel by joining our team he will have the support he needs to deliver some good results and grow as a rider. The dedication from him and his family to succeed is there to see and Taylor thoroughly deserves his place on a pro team."
Taylor was understandably delighted to be on board with the team saying, "I am really happy to be a part of RHR for next year. Rob and his team have a really professional set-up and I cannot wait to start testing out the new 2019 Yamaha. I’m looking forward to a successful year ahead."
The team is well underway with testing for 2019, with Ryan Houghton recently working with Mark Rothwell of RSS, as he looks to build on what was a fantastic 2018.
