It's the first day of October and that typically means that team announcements for the following year begin to filter through. Hitachi ASA KTM were the first to break news, as they confirmed that they have signed Conrad Mewse to a two-year deal. It effectively means that Mewse could become a three-time British champion in the coming years, although the FIM Motocross World Championship will continue to be a priority.
"Hitachi ASA KTM UK are pleased to confirm Conrad Mewse has renewed his MX2 contract with the team for a further two years," a statement on the team's social media confirmed. "We look forward to working hard with Conrad to take him to the next level in the world championship in 2019 and beyond."
Mewse has had a very up-and-down season with dips in form and injuries, which left him twelfth in the final championship standings. A season-best finish of fourth was acquired in the second moto at the Grand Prix of Europe back in March, then he managed to slot into that position on two more occasions.
