There may be just two rounds remaining in the FIM Motocross World Championship, but Morgan Lesiardo and Marchetti KTM have elected to end their relationship effective immediately. The team announced the news earlier today and confirmed that it was a mutual agreement. There have not been many more details, but Lesiardo has already put a plan in place that will allow him to race at the Grand Prix of The Netherlands.
"I wanted to communicate to all those who follow me that I made the decision to close my deal with the Marchetti team in advance for various reasons," Lesiardo wrote on his social media. "I thank all the team staff. I will finish these two races in Assen and Imola with a 2019 KTM. I thank all my sponsors who continue to believe in me and all the people who have been close to me recently with my friends and family. Soon I will unveil what awaits me 2019."
Morgan Lesiardo, a former EMX250 champion, has had an extremely difficult campaign in the MX2 class and secured just thirty-four points thus far, hence why he runs thirty-second in the championship standings.
