It has been well-documented that a handful of smaller nations have struggled to raise the funds needed to head to the United States, so have created various crowdfunding pages and generated fundraising ideas. Ireland held a fundraiser at Desertmartin recently, for instance, and actually enjoyed some success.
One hundred and forty riders turned up to the world-class facility, along with Graeme Irwin and Martin Barr, and contributed. Four thousand two hundred pounds was raised on the day! It is remarkable that so much can be gathered on a single day and that'll undoubtedly help Irwin, Barr and Richard Bird when they travel across the Atlantic to RedBud. Everything appears to be working out as the event draws closer.
