The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series may have only finished three days ago, but riders are already jumping into testing for the new season. For some riders, like Joey Savatgy, that means moving across to a completely new team. Savatgy will be stepping up to the premier division next year and has signed a contract with Monster Energy Kawasaki.
"Monster Energy Kawasaki is excited to welcome @VersaceSavatgy17 to the team," Kawasaki announced on social media. "The No. 17 machine will make its premier class debut at the Monster Energy Cup in Las Vegas, Nevada, on October 13." It is thought that Savatgy will be joined at the MEC by his new teammate, Eli Tomac, despite the fact that he is set to compete at the Motocross of Nations the week before.
Joey Savatgy completed his final term as a 250MX rider by acquiring ninth in the series standings. Two hundred and twenty-five points separated him from the eventual champion.
