Track Information: Mildenhall

A closer look at the Mildenhall track

Mildenhall has been a favourite throughout the years with AMCA and professional riders alike, providing a fun sandy track to get stuck in with. After their extensive revamp on the whole track and facilities, MX Vice went over to ride and check it out.

First impressions of the new track and layout look great, with some hefty-looking tabletops put in and some nice smooth corners as you come out through the tunnel. You can see that in the pictures below. The track flows nice and there is plenty of room. The only thing I would mention is some of the jumps are a bit steep, but as soon as you have done a couple of laps you do not even think about it.

The new cafe facilities are pretty impressive too with a selection of pasta, jacket potatoes and good ol' bacon cobs (or batches if you are from the area). There are decent shower blocks and toilets, which are integral if you are looking to make the most of your weekend, plus there is a designated jet-wash area with a pay-as-you-go meter. All of these amenities are things that not all tracks provide, so make the most of them whilst you can. There is simply nothing missing at the Mildenhall facility.

With opening times ranging from Tuesday to Sunday, there are plenty of days of fun to be had at the new Mildenhall. The track also caters for kids; they run kids sessions throughout the day, including pit-bike days for the big kids (and adults of course).

A lot of time has been invested by a few professional riders recently, with Elliott Banks-Browne being involved and also Jake Nicholls supplying machinery. The short time that the track was turned around in was rather impressive and just goes to show the dedication that those at Mildenhall have to their facility.
