Rider News: Dylan Woodcock

Unfortunate news for Dylan Woodcock

Dylan Woodcock has had an up-and-down year with the REVO Husqvarna squad, but has made some strides forward in recent weeks. The progress that he has made was halted at the fifth round of the Maxxis British Championship, however, as he sustained a thumb injury that will rule him out for around a month.

"I was on my first qualifying lap and the wind blew me off my line over the big triple and I slid off in the corner and bent my thumb right back," Woodcock said in a team statement. "I thought it was all right so I did another three laps, pulled in and went back to the van and my thumb was swollen up like a balloon. I wanted to race but was told it would not be safe so I went to the hospital for an x-ray and I have split the main bone in my thumb. I will have an operation on Wednesday and should be back on a bike in three to four weeks."

Dylan Woodcock sits thirty-second in the MX2 class in the Maxxis British Championship currently, but will not have an opportunity to move forward at the next round in a little over a week. It is likely that he will be back for the penultimate round, Foxhill, towards the end of the September.
