Youthstream have now released a full video of the tussle that occurred between Mel Pocock and Pierre Goupillon, which is why the former was disqualified from moto one. The actual crash was not captured, unfortunately, but the way that Pocock launched off the track speaks for itself. Pocock returned for the second EMX250 moto earlier today and finished sixth, so now sits third in the championship.

Mel Pocock had a turbulent time of it on day one at the Grand Prix of Russia. The first EMX250 encounter actually started out in a rather positive fashion, as the former series leader charged into fifth early on. Pierre Goupillon cleaned him out on lap two though and that sent him flying off of the track.
Pocock was actually lucky to escape uninjured, as he flipped onto the hard-baked dirt. After climbing back onto his REVO Husqvarna, a task that took a bit of time, he charged through the field to nineteenth at the chequered flag and salvaged two valuable points. Those were later ripped from him though, as he was disqualified for "unsportive behaviour" whilst tussling with Goupillon. The incident can be viewed in the video below.
