Steve Matthes, our correspondent in the United States, is reporting that former Arenacross Tour champion Thomas Ramette has secured a fill-in deal with Star Racing Yamaha for the remainder of the 250SX East series. Ramette is expected to enter the fold for the first time in St. Louis this weekend.
"Thomas Ramette going to ride for Star Yamaha this weekend," Matthes wrote on social media. "Jacob Hayes was all set to ride for a Star but I guess Babbitt's Kawasaki wouldn't let him out of his contract." Star Racing have been hit by devastating injuries in recent weeks, as Dylan Ferrandis sustained a broken arm and broken teeth in Atlanta. Colt Nichols then sustained an arm injury in the days that followed.
Thomas Ramette is a three-time Arenacross Tour champion and has raced in a handful of Monster Energy Supercross rounds in the past, including unique races like the Red Bull Straight Rhythm and Monster Energy Cup. Official confirmation from Star Racing is expected in the coming days.
