Massive news has just come out of Houston, Texas, as Eli Tomac has confirmed that he will not attempt to race at round two of Monster Energy Supercross. Tomac has been dealing with a contusion in his shoulder after crashing out of the lead at Anaheim 1 just seven days ago, but hoped that he would be able to salvage some points tonight.
It was immediately clear that he is not in a position to compete during the qualifying sessions, as he fought his way around the technical circuit and failed to log a noteworthy lap time. The times that he did record were enough for him to qualify for the night show. However, they put him all the way down in fortieth place. Various sources in the United States, such as our friends at Racer X Online and Transworld Motocross, have now confirmed that he has elected to sit out the night programme and will consequently give up another twenty-six points to one of his competitors.
Jason Anderson qualified fastest in the premier class from Ken Roczen and Marvin Musquin. The full qualifying results can be viewed elsewhere on MX Vice at your leisure.
