There have been many Dean Wilson updates this week, seeing as he has attempted to make strides forward with his injured shoulder each day. After ruling out a return at Houston earlier in the week, because of the damage sustained at the Monster Energy Supercross opener, Wilson decided to travel to Houston and at least give it a go. However, after riding press day, he has now confirmed that he will not venture out onto the track today.
"Tough pill to swallow, but I won't be lining up today," Wilson wrote on his social media accounts. "I just don't feel I have the strength to race and wouldn't want to put myself or anyone else in danger. Really bummed but hopefully I will be feeling a lot better next weekend with another full week of therapy. Thanks for sticking with me." Wilson previously confirmed that he sustained a bad contusion in his shoulder, strained rotator cuff, bone bruising and a sprained wrist in his crash at Anaheim 1.
Qualifying is about to get underway at Houston, round two of Monster Energy Supercross, with the live show kicking off in a little over an hour. Race Day Live, hosted by Daniel Blair and Jim Holley, will be broadcast live on MX Vice and capture all of the action from NRG Stadium.
