Team Belgium will tackle the Motocross of Nations without Clement Desalle for the fourth year in succession, unfortunately, as the Monster Energy KRT rider injured his lower back at the MXGP of The Netherlands over the weekend. Desalle was set to contest the MXGP division for the team, a position that he has occupied just twice before.
The untimely injury that he has sustained has caused his season to grind to a halt, so Team Belgium had to spring into action and find a replacement. They obviously did not have to look very far, as Kevin Strijbos has returned to form recently and not dropped outside of the top seven in MXGP across the last four motos. Strijbos also acquired a brace of thirds at Maggiora just last year.
In more Team Belgium news, Jeremy Van Horebeek is currently dealing with an ailment of his own. "I need to see how my leg feels, because I was in quite a bit of pain after my crash in Assen," Van Horebeek said in a press release. "I will get through and I am confident that I will be on it at the ‘Nations."
