Clement Desalle has not competed at the Motocross of Nations since 2013, as some untimely injuries have cost him dearly. It seems that this season will be no different, much to the dismay of the Belgian fans, as Monster Energy KRT have reported that Desalle sustained a season-ending injury at the Dutch Grand Prix.
Details were rather vague, but a press release from Monster Energy shed more light on the problem. An injured lower back is expected to rule him out of the MXGP of Pays de Montbéliard and the Motocross of Nations. A further update has not been released, but Desalle has already secured fourth in the championship. The advantage that he has over Tim Gajser, who currently occupies fifth in MXGP, is greater than fifty points.
Kevin Strijbos is expected to jump into the vacant slot on Team Belgium and has been a valuable member on the team in the past. Julien Lieber (MX2) and Jeremy Van Horebeek (Open) are the other members on the team.
