The first-turn crash that claimed Jeremy Van Horebeek and Valentin Guillod has certainly had an impact on the FIM Motocross World Championship! Guillod, like Van Horebeek, is now on the sidelines and destined to seek further medical advice after breaking a bone.
"I have been involved in a collective crash at the start of the qualifying race, with Jeremy Van Horebeek and some other riders," Guillod wrote on social media. "One of them was us and we have a broken metacarpus; they put a plaster on the track. Now I will go back home ASAP to have surgery in Switzerland."
It remains to be seen how long '92' will be sidelined for, but Shaun Simpson sustained a similar injury at the beginning of May and is expected to return at the end of the month. It would be wise to expect Guillod to be out for a similar amount of time.
