Following the unfortunate injury that Jake Nicholls sustained at the Grand Prix of Trentino, the MX1 class in the Maxxis British Championship is in desperate need of a boost. Most hoped that would come in the form of Tommy Searle, who is now back on a bike after missing nineteen weeks with a knee injury, but he is going to wait a little longer before rolling up behind a starting gate for the first time.
By missing round three of eight, ‘100' is effectively giving up any shot that he may have had at retaining his crown. A massive eighty-two-point deficit already sits between him and the virtual series leader, Graeme Irwin (who needs thirteen points to actually pass Jake Nicholls), and that'll only grow on Sunday. Do not be surprised if Searle appears at the following round, however, at Hawkstone Park.
