The OG vets event, the Farleigh Castle Vets MX, is set to return on its annual mid-September date, this year being over the weekend of September 12th &13th. Farleigh Castle, Somerset, must be the most picturesque and natural venue in the country.
Having been established since 2009, the event is heading into its 17th year, with this year being the third under the all-new management, which has seen entries, spectators and most importantly the track preparation step up a gear to get back to its position as the premier event at the historic and iconic GP track.
Until now, the vets’ events have been exclusively 2-stroke-based (apart from the one class, the Evo+, which would allow exotic pre-96 bikes like a Vertemati, Husaberg, or early Husqvarna). However, for 2026, there is a new class in town: the 4-stroke evo ultra +30 class.
The riders already signed up are sure to give a good showing, with names such as Joel Hughes, James King, Ross Sturmey, Eliott, and Josh for the Barrs family. This class is sure to give us all something to watch as the 18-year-old machines will be ridden in anger once again.
There are still a few entries available, so be quick if you would like to line up.
With rider entries selling out in minutes in the traditional classes, the reinstated twin-shock class, and now the all-new 2026 4-stroke race, fans will be able to see machines on track spanning four decades.
Spectator tickets and camping passes are currently frozen at 2024 prices, providing an affordable, brilliant, family-friendly atmosphere with the ever-popular beer tent on Friday and Saturday evenings, food and beverage stalls, and the trade village.
Gates open for weekend campers on Thursday (10th) to allow early access, prior to a chilled Friday with track walk and scrutineering before the races start on Saturday.
We’re sure to see plenty of bar-to-bar racing across the weekend with some of the biggest names in the UK on era correct machines that make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end, and not to forget the ever-popular main event, the Farleigh Castle Vets MX team race.
