Gajser wins both motos in Mantova, Herlings third

Tim Gajser won both motos of the Italian Championship in Mantova. In the second moto, he finished ahead of Ruben Fernandez and Jeffrey Herlings. After a reasonable start, Herlings worked his way back up to third place during the race but was then unable to close the gap to Ruben Fernandez.

Behind Herlings, Tom Vialle finished fourth ahead of Alberto Forato. Jago Geerts battled well in the top 3–5 during the first half of the race but, after a crash in the closing stages, eventually finished seventh.

In addition to winning both motos, Gajser also secured the Italian title. Alberto Forato finished second in the championship standings ahead of Mattia Guadagnini.

Nick Leerkes once again delivered a solid result by finishing fifteenth.
