With a venue change in 2026 to the picturesque Hawkstone Park circuit in Shropshire, the buzz for the VMXdN has notched up a gear. The anticipation for the most popular event on the British MX calendar is at an all-time high, and it’s only going to get bigger, so strap yourself in as the big names start to be announced for the four-day motocross festival held over the annual date of the August Bank Holiday, 27th -30th August 2026.
First out of the gate to be announced is three-time 125 world champion, Italian Alessio Chiodi, who has been a regular at the VMXdN since 2022. ‘Chicco’ was part of the Italian squad, who in 2025 tied on points with the Team USA, only to lose out of the overall top spot by way of the Americans winning more races on the weekend.
The fire is lit and word has it that Chicco isn’t coming to get second again!
The Yamaha Ambassador will race on the same DocWob built 2002 YZ 250 he raced in 2025, though for Hawkstone it’ll be in special Rinaldi factory Yamaha livery for this event, he will retain his regular mechanic in Sonnie Mee Harris, so he is in familiar and very safe hands homed in the DocWob race marquee.
An ever-popular racer to watch, Chicco has an aggressive and attacking style on the bike, off the track he is super friendly and easily approachable and always has time for a chat and photo opportunity, so be sure to swing by.
The weekend starts when the gates open at 12 noon on Thursday, August 27th. There is plenty to see and do before the racing action commences, with the trade village, open paddock, track walk (be warned that hill is steeper than it looks) and of course you won’t want to miss Show’N’Shine on the Friday, a feast for the eyes of any two-stroke fan. With the gate dropping on the racing action on Saturday morning, legends past and present from around the Globe will take to the line to go bar to bar just like the golden era of ’90s motocross.
