Luciano Benavides has secured victory in the fifth stage of the Dakar Rally. After more than four hours of racing, Benavides crossed the line with a commanding advantage of 3 minutes and 51 seconds over José Cornejo. Daniel Sanders finished third, nearly six minutes behind Benavides, ahead of Bradley Cox in fourth and Ricky Brabec in fifth.
Belgian rider Jerome Martiny completed the stage in 23rd position, while Ian Olthof finished 54th.
In the overall standings, Daniel Sanders continues to lead the rally with a two-minute advantage over Ricky Brabec. Benavides holds third place, just under six minutes off the overall lead.
