Following his victory on Tuesday, Tosha Schareina of the HRC Honda Team has also secured the win in the fifth stage of the Dakar Rally. Schareina was closely followed by his teammates Ricky Brabec and Skyler Howes, who finished second and third within ten seconds of the stage winner. Ross Branch and Daniel Sanders completed the top five in fourth and fifth positions respectively.
Belgian rider Jerome Martiny crossed the finish line in 23rd place. At the time of writing, Ian Olthof is still out on the course.
In the overall standings, Schareina and Brabec are now tied for the lead. Daniel Sanders sits third, 1 minute and 24 seconds behind, while Edgar Canet and Luciano Benavides occupy fourth and fifth place respectively.
