Nicolas Vennekens of VNT Racing will take a new direction for the 2026 season. After many years riding KTM, he will make the switch to Yamaha.
He will also leave the 250 class and move up to the 450 class. Vennekens has already been training on the bigger machine for several weeks and feels very comfortable on the bike.
“For 2026 we are taking on a new challenge with Yamaha, but also with the move to the 450 class. I have ridden KTM for many years and have always been happy with it. Still, we decided to switch to Yamaha. I am grateful to KTM for everything they have done for me in recent seasons, but I feel very much at home on the Yamaha, and therefore it is time for a new challenge,” says Nicolas.
In 2026, Vennekens will focus on racing the ADAC Masters Series, Dutch Masters of Motocross, EMX Open in Lommel, AMPL races and, if everything goes according to plan, several rounds of the MXGP World Championship.
“For 2026 we have decided to compete in several national championships combined with AMPL races and the EMX Open. If everything goes really well, it’s possible that we will also enter a few Grand Prix rounds. This will be evaluated during the season. I raced the Grand Prix series intensively for two years and showed good progress in my riding. A full world championship costs an enormous amount of money, and in the championships I will ride next year, there is still plenty for me to learn. That’s why we decided to stay closer to the basics in 2026.”
In the coming weeks, Nicolas will continue his preparation for the new season to ensure he is ready when the races begin!
