Malcolm Stewart delivered a very strong opening night at the Supercross in Paris. Stewart won both SX1 heats and also took control of the final. He secured the victory in the final with a safe margin ahead of Cooper Webb and Tom Vialle.
Jett Lawrence had a night to forget. He crashed in the superpole and again on the first lap of the first heat. After finishing third in heat 2, he also went down in the final, after which he returned to the pits disappointed. His brother Hunter Lawrence was running in second place in the final when he suffered a hard crash in the whoops and had to retire from the race. Fortunately, Lawrence did not sustain any serious injuries and there is a chance he will be able to race again on Sunday.
In the SX2 class, there was an intense battle between Luke Clout and Anthony Bourdon. Bourdon won the first heat, but the second heat went to Clout. In the final, Clout took the lead early on while Bourdon had to recover from a poor start. He managed to fight his way back to second place, but by that time Clout was already too far ahead and rode unchallenged to the win! Bourdon finished second with Calvin Fonvieille in third.
