Adrien Van Beveren of the Monster Energy HRC Honda Rally Team sustained an injury during Stage 2 of the Rally World Championship in Portugal.
“The pace was good this morning, and I was really hitting the right lines until I realized the corner was much sharper than I expected. I braked hard but couldn’t avoid going off the cliff,” said the French rider.
After the fall, Van Beveren landed some 30 meters below. He expressed relief that the trees in the area helped prevent more serious injuries. “I’m just glad I’m awake and feeling relatively okay. This could have ended much worse,” Van Beveren added.
