Herlings Dominates Again, Secures Second Moto and Grand Prix Victory in China

Jeffrey Herlings backed up his opening race win with another commanding performance in moto two, sealing both the race and the overall Grand Prix victory. The Dutchman took the lead right from the start, with Tim Gajser in close pursuit. The gap remained around two seconds throughout the race, and despite Gajser closing in during the final lap, Herlings held firm to take the checkered flag.

This marks Herlings’ fifth win in the last six motos and his third consecutive Grand Prix victory. Behind Herlings and Gajser, Rubén Fernández claimed third, while Romain Febvre strengthened his title bid with fourth place. Championship runner-up Lucas Coenen endured another difficult outing, crashing and finishing fourteenth.

The podium in China featured Herlings on top, joined by Gajser in second and Fernández in third. Calvin Vlaanderen delivered a strong ride to secure fifth, while Glenn Coldenhoff finished ninth and Brian Bogers came home fifteenth.

With just one Grand Prix remaining, Romain Febvre now holds a 47-point advantage over Lucas Coenen in the MXGP World Championship standings.
