Lucas Coenen claimed victory in the opening MXGP moto in Turkey. Much like his brother Sacha in MX2, Lucas grabbed the holeshot and never looked back, leading the race from start to finish.
Behind the Belgian, Jeffrey Herlings crossed the line in second, just 3.5 seconds adrift, followed by Romain Febvre in third, Tim Gajser in fourth, and Ruben Fernandez in fifth.
Among the Dutch riders, Calvin Vlaanderen finished a strong seventh, while Glenn Coldenhoff ended the race in 12th and Brian Bogers took 20th place.
