Karssemakers breaks into top 10 moto finish at home GP of Arnhem

Kay Karssemakers – MX2
Qualifying – 14th
Race 1 – 13th
Race 2 – 10th
Overall – 12th

“Since I came back to the GPs last month, I have been working hard with both Steve and my personal trainer to get back into the top ten before the end of the season, and I achieved that in the second moto today. We have a long-term plan and are taking it one step at a time.

I went 13-10 for 12th overall in my home GP in Arnhem. I’m happy with a Top 10 result and the improvements we’ve made.

The First moto started well, but later in the race, I lost my rhythm and finished 13th. In the second moto, I had a good start. I rode a long time on P7 and some laps in 6th place. Unfortunately I had a small crash in the end and finished in 10th place. But really happy with a Top 10 result, my riding and the steps in the right direction!

Thanks to Abrex Logistics and Dixon Racing Team for everything! Also to my trainer William, mechanic Stuart Haywood and all my sponsors and the people who make this possible!

Steve Dixon – Team Owner / Manager
“Back to the sand in Holland, the main aim was to have a trouble-free weekend and get a top ten. We achieved our goals, and Kay rode well throughout the weekend. It was good to see him looking comfortable and battling in 6th in race two.

Now we have two rounds at the weekend in Scotland for the British, and then we head overseas for the last 3 GPs. To leave each GP with an improvement is our goal for the end of the season.

Following his win at the Irish International the other week, Taylor will be looking to secure a podium finish this weekend in Scotland as well.

A big thanks to the team and sponsors. At the moment, it’s a lot of running around and travel to achieve these last few races.”
