On an unforgettable night filled with drama and excitement, Dean Wilson secured the Brazilian Championship. The final round of the series turned into a true thriller where nothing was left to chance.
In the opening main, Wilson suffered a mechanical issue, which meant the title would be decided in the very last race. There, he found himself in a fierce battle with Enzo Lopes. The two riders collided and crashed, forcing Wilson to fight his way back through the pack.
As if that wasn’t enough, his bike sustained damage after landing on another machine, puncturing the engine case. Despite the setback, Wilson clawed his way up to second place, but was forced to pull into the mechanics area to refill oil. “My team told me I needed to come in. We put some oil in and I went back out. On the last lap, the bike was on the verge of blowing up, but I managed to limp it across the finish line,” said a relieved Wilson.
With that heroic effort, Wilson ultimately secured the championship title, despite the impressive form shown by Enzo Lopes, who also delivered a strong performance throughout the night.
“It’s been a tough season, so this feels incredible. I’m extremely proud to win this championship, even if it was probably the craziest way to do it,” Wilson added.
