The 2025 Pro Motocross season ended differently than expected for French rider Benoit Paturel. During the second moto of the final round in Budds Creek, Paturel suffered a heavy crash, hitting his head hard.
“I was fighting for a spot in the top 10,” Paturel explained. “I was trying to pass Jorge Prado. I had been taking the same line every lap, but this time he went for it too. I moved over, my handlebar twisted, and I was thrown off the bike. I immediately felt I had hit my head hard. It was a big impact, but I did not lose consciousness.”
The crash happened on one of the harder sections of the track. “The ground was rock hard where I landed. A shame, because I was riding well and felt strong. A good result would have been a nice way to close out the season. But unfortunately, this is also part of the sport.”
Paturel will now take a few days to recover. “I’ll see if I can be fit in time for the SMX race in Charlotte. Preparation time is short, but I’m not putting pressure on myself. I’ll follow my instincts. The main goal is to build towards a strong 2026 season.”
