Kay de Wolf secured pole position during the time practice in Arnhem with a blistering lap in the very final minute of the session. The reigning World Champion pushed once more and stopped the clock at 1:38.816. Alongside De Wolf, Rick Elzinga was the only other rider to break the 1:40 barrier, securing an impressive second place. Third fastest was Sacha Coenen, while championship leader Simon Längenfelder recorded the fifth-fastest time.
