As the 2025 Motul ACU British Motocross Championship heads toward its conclusion, preparations for the 2026 season are already well underway.
Paul Irwin will continue his role as Series Director of the ACU British Motocross Championship in 2026. In 2025, under Irwin’s leadership, the series has experienced significant growth and enthusiasm, setting the stage for an exciting future for British Motocross.
The series has witnessed a remarkable increase in support from both fans, riders, industry and manufacturers.
MXGB Series Director Paul Irwin has confirmed the following for next year:
• Race Classes: 125, MX2, and MX1 will remain unchanged.
• Format: 8 rounds across the UK, each running to a one-day format.
• Broadcast: All rounds will be live-streamed on MXGB-TV and FIM Moto-TV.
• Registration: Rider registration for the 2026 season opens Mid-September 2025.
• Schedule: Dates and venues will be confirmed following the release of the MXGP calendar.
“I am really pleased with what we have created so far. The support from our partners and the comments from the riders, teams and fans has been overwhelming, but the work doesn’t stop. I am keen to build on this year and really make the British one of the strongest domestic championships in Europe. Hopefully we will see some of our great UK talent at world level very soon.” commented Paul Irwin
Tim Lightfoot ACU President added “The dedication and commitment of all involved has been instrumental. This year has brought not only increased visibility on the championship but also attendance at events, and heightened engagement through MXGB-TV and the collaboration with FIM-MOTO.TV, which has garnered impressive viewing figures, showcasing the growing interest in motocross across the UK.
The racing this season has been nothing short of first-class across the five rounds to date and the championship heads to Duns, Scotland at the end of the month for rounds six and seven across the weekend of August 30th/31st.
Businesses or individuals wishing to support the series are encouraged to get in touch, along with any ACU clubs interested in staging a round – please contact Paul – paul.irwin@acu.org.uk.
