Nicolas Vennekens of VNT Racing KTM finished fifth in the international race at the Keiheuvel in Mol. Vennekens rode two strong motos, finishing fourth in the first and sixth in the second.
During time practice, Vennekens struggled to find the right feeling. He pushed several times to set a fast lap but ultimately could not do better than fifteenth place.
After the practice session, a suspension adjustment was made, which worked out well for the first moto.
In the first moto, he got an excellent start, coming through the first corner in third place. In the early stages, he dropped back to fourth. Despite a crash during the race, he managed to hold on to fourth place until the finish line.
In the second moto, his start was much worse, crossing the first hill around twentieth place. Vennekens began a charge through the field, passing rider after rider. In the closing stages, he moved up to fifth but had to give up one position, finishing sixth. With these results, he secured fifth place overall in the day’s standings.
In the superfinal, he got a poor start among the 450cc machines and began working his way forward. He climbed back to sixteenth place but, in the heat of the battle, collided with another rider and crashed. The impact damaged his bike to the point that continuing was no longer possible.
Next weekend, Vennekens will compete in the Grand Prix of Sweden!
