Max Nagl has announced via social media that he has been struggling with health problems for some time. In 2019, during surgery, Nagl contracted a bacterium that will never leave his body. As a result of this bacterium, he can suffer from severe fatigue, high blood pressure, hyperventilation, and intense muscle pain.
Because of this, he was unable to train much between the ADAC races in Tensfeld and Gaildorf, and therefore could manage no better than a tenth place. Nagl has had to relinquish the lead in the standings to Roan van de Moosdijk but will do everything he can to address the problem before the upcoming races.
