Haiden Deegan has won the first moto of the 250 class at Ironman. Jo Shimoda took the lead right away and opened up a gap of about eight seconds. It took a few laps before Deegan started closing the gap, but he managed to get right onto Shimoda’s rear wheel and pass him in the closing stages. French rider Tom Vialle finished third ahead of Garrett Marchbanks and Mikkel Haarup.
Frenchman Mathys Boisramé crossed the line in eighteenth place.
