Get ready for an awesome weekend of MX racing as the HM Racing Team gears up for the Farleigh Castle Vets MX at the historic Somerset Grand Prix circuit on September 13 and 14. This is the original Evo motocross event that has been a highlight of the British and International motocross calendar for over fifteen years, showcasing some of the finest talent in the sport and a step back in time to the world of Evo racing.
The latest team to be throwing their hat into the ring and line up in the uber competitive Farleigh Castle Vets Team Race is HM Racing, managed by John Pickett, who has organised a line-up of heavy hitters sure to be a favourite for honours.
Luke Dean is no stranger to international racing and has taken to the EVO scene with some gusto. Hailing from South Gloucestershire, he is a local boy and was a highlight of both the VMXdN Foxhill and the Farleigh Castle Vets MX events in 2024, having been crowned AMCA MX1 and 125 championships he was also the 2019 Allaire IMBA champion and the winner of the 2024 NORA championship, he’s a hard charger and one to watch on the number 16 machine.
Jamie Skuse is another local Bristol racer with a super impressive resume. At Foxhill VMXdN he has won the overall Super Evo class against some serious talent. His championships go back to both 2012 and 2017 South West Masters champ, 2015 Evo British champion, 2018/2019/2021/2022 and 2023 European Evo champion. He also was team mate of Brad and Ryan Voase at the Italian vets event. Suffice to say, he’s no stranger to leading the pack, and the number 17 bike is sure to be at the sharp end.
The third racer on number 18 is from “across the bridge” and is a folk hero to many in the valleys. Glen Phillips is a multi-time schoolboy British champion and has a stellar adult career, which has fed into being one to count on when the evo series comes around. Known to be a ruthless racer on track, but everybody’s mate off it.
There appears to be no weak link in this trio.
