Jens Walvoort Takes Strong Seventh Place at MXGP of Lommel

Jens Walvoort of BTS Racing delivered an impressive performance at the Grand Prix of Belgium, finishing seventh overall in Lommel.

Walvoort showed solid pace throughout the entire weekend. After setting the 13th fastest time in time practice, he already managed to score a point in Saturday’s qualifying heat by finishing in 10th place.

Sunday’s motos saw even stronger performances. By then, the Lommel track had become extremely rough and demanding. In the first moto, despite a mediocre start, Walvoort fought his way forward. From 14th position, he broke into the top ten by the third lap and continued to push. His efforts were rewarded with a strong eighth-place finish, boosting his confidence heading into race two.

In the second moto, Walvoort got off to a better start and completed the opening lap in ninth place. He rode a consistent race, maintaining his position around ninth throughout. At one point he moved into eighth, but had to surrender the spot later and crossed the line in ninth.

With 8-9 finishes in the two motos, Walvoort secured a solid seventh overall in the day’s classification. The FIM Motocross World Championship continues in two weeks at the hardpack circuit of Uddevalla, Sweden.
